How can we combat noise?
There is no question as to our prime goal: unnecessary noise should be avoided right from the outset and sources of noise should be at least sufficiently screened. Unfortunately, the reality is different. In spite of decades of debate, noise pollution is increasing rather than decreasing. Before this results in noise damage, everyone should protect their own hearing. There are various ways to do this:
- In workplaces where noise protection is stipulated, effective capsule hearing protectors are provided. Sometimes, however, these are perceived as bothersome due to pressure, sweating and lack of insulation for glasses wearers.
- Otoplasties are individually manufactured inserts for the auditory canal. They can be combined with special filter inserts in order to soften certain frequency ranges, e.g. for professional musicians. They are not cheap and require complicated fitting.
- Ear plugs are the universal alternative, particularly suitable also for private use: effective, small, can be fitted to almost all auditory canals and simple to use.
OHROPAX provides ear plugs made of various materials. All of them have outstanding sound attenuation values, are pleasant to wear and are suitable for a wide range of noise situations. Test which OHROPAX ear plugs are the best for you.
Incidentally, you need have no reservations about ear plugs completely blocking out the noise around you. The sound is softened, but not completely shut out. Thus, certain residual noises are still perceivable. |
