OHROPAX Silicon has high sound attenuation values across the entire frequency range.
Checking the suitability of an ear plug:
1. Determine the level (dB) of the sound at the respective frequency (e.g. based on appliance documents).
2. Subtract the APV (assumed protection value) from it.
3. The remaining value should be less than 85 dB. To simplify, you can also perform the calculation with the following (approximate) mean values:
• SNR (Single Number Rating, general attenuation)
• H (high, for high frequencies)
• M (medium, for medium frequencies)
• L (low, for low frequencies)
Example: At a frequency of 1000 Hz, an appliance generates a sound level of 100 dB. OHROPAX Silicon softens the sound at this frequency by 19.1 dB (APV). The remaining noise pollution is 80.9 dB. OHROPAX Silicon is suitable because the value is less than 85 dB.

General safety precautions
Reusable ear plugs to be shaped before use, in compliance with the standard EN 352-2:2002. Tested by BGIA (No. 0121), D-53754 Sankt Augustin, Germany.
1. Carefully insert the ear plug in accordance with the directions for use. Pay attention to a hygienic application.
As noise protection: In noisy areas ear plugs must be worn constantly.
As water protection: Please note that the ear plugs may loosen when exposed to extreme movement, such as jumping, swimming or diving and that, as a result, your ears will be insufficiently protected. In the event of chronic ear problems or injuries of the ear drum, please consult your doctor or chemist before use.
2. When not in use, keep the ear plugs clean and dry in the case and protect them from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
3. The ear plugs can be reused several times. They can be carefully cleaned externally with warm water and mild soap. Only use clean and dry ear plugs. Replace ear plugs which have visible, permanent discoloration or which, after long use, have hardened and thus reduced their sealing effect.
4. This product may be affected by certain chemical substances. Further information can be requested from the manufacturer.
